Post 2 - Awards

I think that, to start with, I should give a brief history of Masset Travel.

Masset Travel was registered as R.E.Masset and Associates Travel and established in Melbourne in 1976 to serve tourists, business people and expatriates interested in travelling to Mauritius or anywhere else in the world. We have been operating as Licensed Travel Agent in Melbourne Australia for 37 years. My office was located right in the heart of the City of Melbourne, within the central business district, across the road from St Francis Catholic Church.

Masset Travel has been an integral part of the Mauritian Community in Melbourne, sponsoring many events and social functions. Long before Air Mauritius obtained landing rights in Australia, Masset Travel was booking travellers to Mauritius on the Mauritian National carrier flying out of Singapore.

I have had an excellent business relationship with all major airlines - Qantas, Air Mauritius, Royal Brunei, Thai International, Singapore Airlines, Garuda, Air New Zealand, Malaysian Airlines, British Airways, etc. 

During the many years that I supported hotels and airlines, I received many recognitions by being awarded commemorative plaques. In my next post I will publish photos of these awards.

Post 1 - My Blog is born...

TODAY is the first day of the rest of my blog, as some would say.

My website, www.massettravel.com.au, is about to be closed and will be no more. This website has been a great tool in bringing business to me, and has been of great sentimental value as well. Therefore it is going to be sad for me when the website is shut down and my domain name expires.

I have been and still am an Honorary Justice of the Peace in the State of Victoria, Australia.

The above photo shows me on the right in the company of the ex-Lord Mayor of Melbourne, John So, on being awarded a certificate for having run my business in the Melbourne CBD for 25 years. That was a few years ago.

In due course, I will post the many awards that I have received over the years. These were posted on my website and so I want to show them here as well.
